Ash shrink pots.

Heres some photos of some shrink pots that I recently made from Ash.
I removed the bark but kept the inner bark, it has given them a nice colour and with a coat of oil it darkened them up nicely.

I carved the some lids and then made some handles all from Ash.

Birch serving spoons.

These serving spoons are made from Birch wood.
I made these spoons for use in the kitchen at home.

They are very strong and the shape of the bowl helps get into the corners of the pan.
I also have a ladle from Willow drying out at the moment.

Woodland pictures and a Birhday Spoon

We were working in a lovely woodland for a day clearing storm damaged trees from a public footpath and a bridge this week. It is a stunning little woodland so I took a few pictures.

While we were there we watched Mink and a very friendly field mouse who was not bothered by our presence At all and ran around our feet.

I also would like to say Happy Birthday to my good friend Lewis who is 21 today.
I made him a spoon as he likes very figured wood I thought he might like this one from Apple, I carved his date of birth into the handle. I hope he likes it.

Happy Birthday Lewis.
