Apple Kuksa.

I recently cut down a big old dead Apple tree, Most of the wood was rotten including 50% of the trunk. I managed to find a couple of nice bits to save to make a Kuksa.

These bits are solid but have some really nice spalting.

This one has a tooled finish, I want to do a bit more work on the rim and a few more cuts on the handle.

  1. Nice work as always, Simon! I've had trouble working with dry apple, as it seems too tough to hand carve. What's your secret?

  2. Thank you, John no secret, sharp tools and persistance, I have had problems with apple splitting and warping in the past though.
