Spoon carving film

As I have been asked to show how I carve a spoon by a few folk who follow my blog, I decided to try a film with my helmet camera from work of the process of me carving from a billet to the almost finished spoon. Its not really a how to video just me carving.
Its not the best video but I might try a better one in time.

  1. Thank you Simon. It was fantastic to watch and I don't know why you think it's not a good video. I really enjoyed seeing how you started, I never realised how deep the blank needed to be to get the curved shape.
You have to remember there are lots of us out there making firewood like me, and justing watching other people carve wood for some of us is a real treat, and instructional.
    Thank you again

  2. I also want to thank you. It is really interesting to see how you go about on getting that spoon out of a billet. I tryed to hold my blank this afternoon as you did while working on the bowl with the axe and I am getting along better with this part of carving now!
