Some basket weaving .
Chip carved and Kolrosed design pattern.
Chip carved Acanthus style design.
Small detailed chip carved decoration to the handle.
Plain handle design.
I am working on another with very fine kolrosing pattern and larger chip carving on the design.

I don't know if you've got time to do requests, but I so enjoyed your video on axing out a spoon blank, is there a chance you could video yourself decorating one of your spoons. My attempts look like they've been attacked by a blunt screwdriver, and I want the decoration to distract the viewer from the inadequacies of the spoon, not add to the disappointment.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Simon! The character and individuality in each of these hand-carved spoons really highlight the artistry and care you bring to green woodworking. It's great to see the natural beauty of the wood shine through so clearly—especially in the subtle grain patterns and organic forms. At Exotic Wood Zone, we’re always inspired by makers who celebrate the uniqueness of each piece of timber. Whether it's local hardwoods or more exotic species, the spoon is a perfect canvas for showcasing what makes wood so special. Thanks for sharing these recent creations—truly inspiring craftsmanship!
