Fine detail chip carving

After I had finished the spoon in my last post I just couldn't stop thinking it needed something, I was quite happy with the overall shape but resisted basket weave on the handle, partly because it's large handle and it might have been too much.

So I opted for some subtle cuts.

I have added chip carving to the handle stem before on my spoons and I like it. It's just adds that little something to an area that doesn't really get any attention by the user.
